Still reeling over a childhood friend's suicide. Hadn't kept up with him as adults but my memories are crystal clear of him as a kid. Me and my wife visited his father a few days ago, just unimaginable grief. Growing up in a small town losing a childhood friend is like losing a family member for all who knew him.
It really has hit me hard especially in light of "The Death of Jayson Porter" and all of the speaking I do in conjunction with that book. The parents and teens I talk to. Everyone is looking for answers. So am I . . .
It's an epidemic that really needs to be talked about, openly and honestly without the stigma. We are losing so many lives to suicide.
God Bless all those who have passed on as a result of this last desperate act . . .
and lets pray for those who are in pain, and let them know that this is not the answer.
There is always someone who cares.
